Hey, guys. So yesterday, I was frequenting (NOT TROLLING) one of my favorite message boards and trying to engage in some clever and intelligent repartee regarding Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. I should have known better.
Turns out there is a TERRIFIC (< see that? It’s Sarcasm) debate going on about whether or not this game should or will be released in disc form. Now, I doubt it will, but some people think so. The point of all this is there was one person who said a downloadable game is better than a Blu Ray Disc game. This was a foreign idea to me and I thought it over for about .02 seconds, then I said NO! It’s not better, not at all. I would rather save that HDD space than give up 2 GB just like that. I have the 40 GB PS3 and things are getting as crowded as the storage facility in Ghostbusters before Walter Peck came and shut it down.
Now this guy said, and I am quoting him because I don’t want to screw this gem up: “I also think the download for QFB is superior to a disc… mainly due to the fact that I can switch over to ToD, which is in my PS3, from playing QFB a lot faster than doing a disc swap.”
Ladles and Jellyspoons: this young man saves about 15-20 seconds of time from not having to swap discs. I don’t know if he has some kind of high paced lifestyle this guy has where SWAPPING DISCS is such a huge time suck, but somehow I doubt it.
Yeah, there are some people that are totally cool with downloadable media, but personally, if I have a choice, I’d rather have a hard copy.
It wasn’t until recently that I didn’t mind not having CD’s for my music, though, so who knows, maybe I’ll be like that in the future.
Yeah, for some smaller games, it makes sense, but I prefer having the instructions, the box, something I can hold and throw when I get mad.
Just to tell you, changing a ps3 hard-drive is simple and risk-free(almonst). I now have a 250 gig ps3 and am dloading galore 😀 Just put your save data on a SD card or something and import. Basically, you unscrew the HDD cover, and remove the HD by….pulling it out and changing a SATA drive. lol.
Oh, I know, I am just waiting until my birthday in Feb, to do that. I just have to somehow make it there, lol.
