So, we all love Star Wars, us nerds. We’re quite fond of it. Especially those who are like me, and gobble up any table scrap that kindly ol’ Lucas throws down to the floor. If that scrap is a demo for a new Star Wars game where I get to do whatever I want with The Force? Watch out.
Apparently, I’m not the only one with an XBox 360 who feels this way. It seems that in a rush of fanboy zeal, the Force Unleashed demo has broken records on Xbox Live.
Over a million downloads in just eight days following the release of the new LucasArts demo. That’s a lot of rabid, overjoyed geeks force choking and causing general mayhem with Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. All told, with PSN downloads and everything, we’re talking 2.3 million downloads worldwide.
Pretty nuts. How many of you guys checked out the demo? Are you planning on buying or renting the game when it drops next week, on September 16th?

This reminds me, contrary to what was said earlier on a post about gamestop, I need to go reserve this and a copy of Fallout 3 for PC (If I reserve I get a poster and soundtrack for my $5)
Despite how shit gamestop is, being able to reliably reserve…that’s fucking sweet. Because I KNOW that this game is going to be hard as hell to find. Especially in a college town. When R6V2 came out, everyone was out.

When I went to florida state, I just went to best buy and always was able to find games the day they came out.
Maybe you can rely on Gamestop having it reserved for you because no one likes that place and goes to it?
I downloaded this the day it dropped. I was extremley excitied for it. Nothing quite like smacking Stromtroopers into metal beams and watching them bend out of shape.
That being said, I wonder if thbe full game will execute on what we all expect. Tycho over at Penny-Arcade has already made a post about this. It seems like, in typical LucasArts fashion, that the game only partially accomplishes what it set out to do.
However, I readily gobble up everything Geroge Lucas puts his name on, so I’ll probably pick this up very soon after it hits.
(Although I am never, in a million years, going to watch the Clone Wars movie or TV shows)
Best buy is usually good but to be honest, to get the soundtrack with it (I dont think that comes with the collectors edition) for $5 extra, that’s worth it to me. I wont get amazons edition, with the pipboy clock, but I do want that bobble head XD
Gamestop really is 1up with its reservation system. If Best Buy would do it that way, I would just go there. Yet I hate BB too
lol I <3 this game, but if the story fails, then that kind of ruins it…. here comes another ball of hype. 😀 A big hairy one.
