CoD: World at War Co-Op Gameplay

Until recently, I mostly ignored any news about Call of Duty: World at War because the game 1) was back in WW2 and 2) wasn’t made by the same dudes that made CoD4, which is just incredible. However, I’ve started to pay more attention.

One thing that really interests me is the game’s co-op, which actually scales in difficulty depending on the skill levels of the players involved. This sounds like a total blast to me, and some new co-op gameplay footage is now out that really got me wanting this game. In this video featuring a street level, the rain effects are dazzling, and when the tank takes the building down, it just looks awesome.

  1. I’m still having a hard time getting over it being made by Treyarch which I have very little faith in their ability to make a CoD game after CoD 3. I may check it out though… I mean, at least we get to play Russain and Pacific campagins instead of yet another American/British westeren European campagin. I’m definitely going to be getting CoD 6 since it’s already been said that Infinity Ward will be making that one.

  2. It looks decent. And at the end picking whether to kill them quick or slow seems cool. But I am so sick of WW2. It’s not even funny how overdone it’s been. But that’s just my opinion. Either way it all comes down to game play. The story can suck and be over done many times. As long as it can stay fun. I never played CoD 3. I heard it sucked. So I guess I’m one of the lucky ones.

Yeah, I agree. After COD4 was received so well, you figure they’d put the brakes on the WW2 thing, though I guess this game must have been pretty far along in development by then.

  4. I wonder what infinity ward will do for CoD 6. Personally I’d like to see a vietnam war setting.

  5. I don’t like how the gaming community shits all over WWII. Now I agree with what Eddy said above, after a huge success its hard to see how they would turn it back. But I hate the bitching about WWII (Prob because of the respect I hold for that war)

There is a lot to cover in WWII and it can be just as fun. Ill agree though with how MP is now a days modern combat seems to be the thing kids want. But people cant put a game down just because its going back. I have planned on getting thing since I heard about it.

Yeah there is a lot to cover and they have covered a lot between Brothers in Arms, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty and a few others.

No one is crapping all over WWII. We are complaining about it being used over and over and over as the setting for video games. I got tired of it after Medal of Honor Rising Sun and I have no desire to play any more WWII games for a long time.

  7. I know its been covered a lot, almost all of it really. And no kids don’t HATE WWII, they are just tired of those games. To be honest Rising Sun was the last WWII game I went through alone or owned (aside from Battle Stations Midway)

I just don’t like how all I heard when it was announced was “whine nag nag bitch”

Ill also admit that this is prob going to be one of the last WWII FPS games for a while. I think its run its course pretty well for our generation. I want more like Midway

  8. If there’s anything I hate is that people immediately assume Treyarch = OMG THE GAME WILL SUCK.

Please. CoD3 was nowhere near as bad as people like to exaggerate it as.

I don’t think anyone was saying it will suck, moreso that after the greatness of CoD4 compared to CoD3, people were a little hesitant to be too excited. At least that’s what the case was for me.

I played CoD 3 on the PS2, Xbox 360, and the Wii and hated it on all three systems. It really was THAT bad. At least for me it was. This might shape up to be a decent game but I lost a lot of respect for Treyarch after CoD 3. And I’ve pretty much hated all CoD games that weren’t developed by Infinity Ward except for CoD: United Offensive, Grey Matter did an excelent job on that.
