Big Shiny New White Knight Video

If you’re a PS3 fan and an RPG fan, then you’ve no doubt heard of Level 5’s White Knight Chronicles, the new RPG from the DQ makers that will be hitting Japan this Christmas. From what I’ve seen of the game so far, there’s plenty to be excited about, and their track record for wicked RPG’s is nothing to scoff at.

If you’re interested, PS3 Fanboy has posted a 14 minute video of some of the TGS walkthrough of White Knight Chronicles. It takes you on a tour through Level 5, as well as shows you some making-of shots, and even a few minutes of gaming footage towards the end.

Personally, I’m glad to hear some more RPG news coming out of either camp, as RPG’s seem to be a dying breed on consoles these days. I think this is one of the reasons Fable II has done so well after being reviewed as being just below great. People just need them some good ol’ fashioned role playing and fantasy video games.

  1. OMFG!!! Level 5 made Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle, 2 of my favourite games ever! This will be good. Have no doubt. They also made Professor Layton: atCV which is supposed to be a good puzzler. Level 5 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I don’t own a PS3 and I can’t speak Japanese, but from what I could see of the combat combined with what I’m guessing were in-game cutscenes, the game looks like it will have a great story. The combat system didn’t look like anything special though.

    Also, that video is NOT 14 minutes of the game. More like five mixed in with a 3 minute walk to the room with the game in it. The other 6 were a Japanese guys talking head.

  3. I’ll miss the days of olde during the Age of the RPG. But it has sadly passed, and has been replaced with the Age of the FPS.
    Anyway, at first White Knight looked like ANOTHER J-RPG, but I don’t know – this seems pretty cool. Unfortunately I don’t have a PS3…yet, so along with Valkyria Chronicles, I can only wish about it.
    …Whatever! I don’t need you! I have World at War! lol

  5. lol at age of the FPS. This looks like a nice RPG, but most classic rpg games seem to be going to…the DS?! WTF to that.
