GTA IV releases on the PC in December, bringing its destructive gameplay to desktop gaming around the world. One of the cool new features that will be coming to the PC version of the game, however, is the in-game video editor that allows you to piece together several 30-45 second clips that you can capture while you play.
With those clips, you have access to a video editor that allows you to place camera movements, text and more, all for upload to Rockstar Social, or you can even output them at 720p or 1080p for your own use. While I wasn’t too excited about the tools at first, Eurogamer has posted some quick clips showing little demos of what is available to you, option-wise, and I must say I’m pleased with the results…
Great, another game I might be picking up on Steam next month… What do you guys think? You can view some videos made with the editor at the link below.

i understand that it’s easier pn pc, but why can they never put these tools of console versions. halo 3 showed us how easily it could be done.
Yeah, after Halo 3, I thought more AAA titles would start including machinima features. Gears of War 2 has some half-assed ones with the ghost camera in MP, but nothing close to Halo 3 has come out, and that was over a year ago.
Already played GTAIV and sold it. Honestly…Im pissed this wasn’t on the sexbox version. My cousin and I would go get in choppers not he map, usually which meant we would be in last place and have to worked hard to get there, just to try and splatter peeps and get gun kills. We got GOOD @ it. I would have loved to have been able to put out clips of us doing that.
Speaking on this. I think for most games this should be mandatory. After Halo 3 showed how simple it was, yea…I mean, how many times have you wished to capture your 24 kill 0 death games on COD?
It has been a long time coming for PC to get video creation features like this. It is always a pain to try and film in games that could look good cinematically but don’t offer the capabilities (such as removing the HUD) to make it possible. It really sucks. So i’m glad some companies are starting to give it to the PC people.
They should have scrapped the machinima tools and added modding tools. That way users could create and share more refined machinma tools and have amazing mods. Im surprised that rockstar and other corp’s arnt including modding tools for there software. Look at blizzard and Warcraft 3 or Valve and Counter strike those games would not be half as good without modding tools and Rockstar shouldnt run into another “Hot Coffe” problem since im sure they did not leave any deleted content in the game this time
I just hope your wallet doesnt run out with all the games xD
