Wow. This is one of those things that I never thought I’d say out loud in my lifetime. EA learned their lesson. They have seen the grievous error of their ways, and have thus repented. How does one know this, you ask? Well, there is a simple answer.
EA has moved its games to Steam.
You can now purchase games like Spore and Mass Effect, with notable titles like Dead Space on their way soon. The best part of all? It seems that they may be DRM-free. To me, this just speaks volumes to the power of Steam, and that Valve yet again shows that it understands gamers and digital distribution better than anybody.
What do you guys think? Good news? I certainly think so. I hope Steam is eventually the platform for all PC releases, personally.

that is great news for the gamimg communtiy it had taken this long for ea to finally learn it’s lesson
WOOO MIRRORS EDGE ON STEAM!!!!!
Steam is just great. It’s like a iTunes for games.
Glad that you brought this up. I’m getting a new computer, so I’m going to download steam there too. But will the games I have on steam on the old pc, be playable on my new one? Or do I hav to buy the same games again? I’ve been googleing this question that I just can’t find the answer.
EA leanrned their lesson? is there no end to the awsome power that is Steam lol
And snowman if you use the same account u will have to download them that’s it but you do not have to rebuy the same games
And lo, the Industry became Steam Powered.
I couldn’t be happier to hear this. I’ve always been hesitant to buy EA games because of their DRM, but by putting their games on Steam it looks like they’re finally taking a step in the right direction.
Looks like I’ll be taking less trips to the stores for christmas. 😀

im pretty sure you can download for free if you log in on an account that has allready paid for the game
This is excellent. Now all I want to see is Blizzard Activision (shouldnt just say Blizzard anymore)Get devoured in the steam band wagon. I used to think it would never happen because they already have there own online distribution service but now that EA signed I think anything is possible
Oh, great! Thx dudes. I can sleep better now.
First EA….THEN THE WORLD!

Yeh, wherever you log in on steam you have all your games ready to download. And also with steam cloud it carrys over your save games and configs too. But as far as I know SC is only for L4D atm.
That means it carrys over your add-ons like for garry’s mod too!? Sweeeeet.
