For me, one of the coolest parts of finishing an open world game such as Grand Theft Auto IV or Crackdown or Fallout 3, is the ability to continue on around the world after everything is said and done. Especially in RPGs, where there might even be loads of sidequests yet to complete, so that you can truly experience all that the game you purchased has to offer.
A lot of people were upset with Fallout 3’s ending, which didn’t allow you to do this. So, Bethesda has heard the cries of discontent, and are releasing a patch this week with the DLC to allow 360 and PC users to continue exploring the post-apocalyptic paradise of Washington, DC. Cool deal, huh? Well, not if you’re a PS3 owner. Apparently, Bethesda has no plans for a PS3 Fallout 3 patch as of now, and they’re ok with that.
Kind of a crappy deal if you ask me. I’m not sure how game developers feel like this lack of support is ok for the gamers. Fair or foul for Bethesda? What do you guys think?

EDIT: Confusing much? According to The Bitbag, there is no patch for the 360 and the PC. Rather, this update is all part of the DLC- which the PS3 is still not getting. Hope that clears things up a tad.
NooOoooooO0000!!
Damn you Bethesda 🙁
Foul. I just completed it last night! I had the infinite wisdom of having at least 4 (yes 4! Stop laughing at my paranoia) save files in case of that problem. I’m beginning to get really pissed at lack of care for PS3 (except COD, Far Cry and Burnout) by devs leaving (Oh God) Ubisoft or (Oh Dear God) EA to port them. Also, with Microsoft getting exclusive content because of their large bribes it looks bleak for me and my PS3. It took them long enough to mention this patch though. C’mon Sony! Put on your Wasteland Settler Outfit of +10 cop-on and set things right!
That sucks, seriously, if you support a product on a machine, you dont let it die out. Thats bad. They SHOULD be taking care of their PS3 lot.
But, perhaps this has to do with Sony probably loosing whats, 3 Bil or was it 300 mil? They could be saying let it die. Sony had been in trouble 🙁
I’m not a personal fan of the PS3, but this is kind of foul. The worst part is that the PS3 version needs patching the most, with it’s myriad of bugs and glitches. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt if they’ll announce TESV, though…

Good find! We’ll have to see what PS3 owners say. I believe they are just talking about the DLC update and not the patch, we’ll see.
I’d say that if you wanted to get the best out what Fallout 3 already has to offer, you WOULDN’T be playing it on the PS3. But hey, even more of a reason that Bethesda should be giving the PS3 a helping hand. I know what it feels like to play the worst versions of multi-console games.
Ever played CoD WaW on the Wii???
I bought my copy for my PS3. So I’m really upset if this is true..
The patch was across all three platforms, which was a good thing; I’ve heard that the PS3 version is significantly buggier than the other two iterations of Fallout 3.
In regards to the DLC, I’m glad I convinced my friend to get F3 for his PC as opposed to his PS3. While it is kind of a low blow to the PS3 owners, money talks. Of course, there could have been a problem on Sony’s side that no one wants to talk about. Of course, Occam’s Razor works here too; the simplest solution is often the correct one.
Kinda foul, but I’m glad. Another reason to shut up the annoying PS3 fanboys.
Aw, zombie guts. That sucks
Oh goody! Well now I have only to bitch about DLC. Was it something to do with Microsoft shelling out big time for such privalges of exclucitivity?
I don’t have a PS3 but I’d have to say that this is foul. It isn’t fair for the PS3 customers to not get content for their game simply because of the console they chose to play the game on. I can see this move hurting Bethesda’s sales on the PS3 in the future. I’m sure PS3 owners will eventually get the content. If not through DLC they might do what they did with Oblivion and release a retail expansion with all the extra content in it.
HA! SUCKERS!
There’s really no denying it’s foul, but honestly – if you got Fallout 3 for PS3, you either only have a PS3 or you’re a MO-RON!!! (FO2 reference lol rofl vague i know) Moving on, at least I have a 360. Oh, and I can’t wait until DLC hits Marketplace!
WOW I really think that just about wrapps up Bethesdas opinion about the ps3, makes me glad i have a 360
The whole story is so confuzing that I cant really judge if its true or not but if it is then I would have to say
PHOUL!!!!!!!!
Ugh, The DLC, Operation Anchorage cost F’ing Microsoft Points now. AND for PC, you have to download it through Games for Windows Live. I hate this…thats a ton of BS.
As someone who has the PS3 version, I have had no bugs or glitches at all.
I do think the DLC will come to the PS3 eventually, just like the GTA IV DLC will. Timed exclusives and all.
Wahey! I was wondering when Anthony was gonna back us up! I too have yet to get any serious glitches (slowdown the odd time, characters lips may not move, usual sandbox problems) but I’m still not happy with Bethesda’s, hell even Sony’s attitude! Can’t they pressure them or something?
It makes little economic sense for Bethesda to take this stance.
