So, apparently EA just announced Battlefield 1943 this morning, which is coming out this freaking summer. This is a welcome surprise, and seeing as how Battlefield 1942 is one of my favorite PC shooters ever, I can’t wait to create me some more sticky bombs out of moving jeeps.
They even did us a solid and released an awesome trailer, full of vehicle combat, turrets and straight up mayhem. Who else thinks this news totally rules?

Ahh… Wake Island, the one constant in the Battlefield series and it never gets old.
lol Can anyone say “competing with CoD”?
Well, I won’t laugh at them too hard for it.
Anyway, despite for the lack of realism when it comes to weapon damage in the BF series (or at least in Bad Company), looks cool. I might just buy it.
Competing with CoD? What? The original BF1942 was released BEFORE the first CoD on PC was released. This just looks like it will be an awesome remake for the best battlefield game in the series.

Yeah, but since then the Battlefield series has fallen far behind Call of Duty.
Great! I can blow up my ansesters! w00t!
Just saw this heart-breaking bit of news over on Kotaku. Thought I’d share it with you guys, just to make your day as miserable as mine:
Unlike previous Battlefield games, Pacific only has three unit classes: Infantry, Riflemen, and Scout. Gone are the Medics and Heavy weapons classes. Van dyke explained they wanted every class to be able to fight in every situation. Every class has weapons to fight against the biggest tanks and armor. I would like to have seen more classes with varied abilities and risks.
No Medic class (which is my favorite)? Auto-healing and unlimited ammo? It looks like Cossack is right. CoD with destructible environments. Hype level…Dropping…
