Wow. I am continually impressed with Valve. They bitch slap the competition when it comes to releasing great content digitally, and releasing quality content in general. And now, they have bitch slapped Microsoft’s “paid DLC no matter what” stance as well.
That’s right, the recently announced Left 4 Dead Survival Pack DLC will be free for both PC and XBox 360 users! In addition, there are a few new details about the pack, as well.
The two new versus modes will be for the original two campaigns, Death Toll and Dead Air. Also, survival mode places humans against several waves of zombies on up to 12 different levels from the campaigns. I’m guessing these will be the crescendo moments scattered throughout each campaign.
This is pretty exciting, and re-enforces my love for Valve yet again.

That’s really awesome! Porps to Valve!
“First one’s free”
They’ll save it for the DLC that includes new campaign(s).

I would totally have sex with Valve if it were a woman. Or Gordon Freeman.
Ah, Valve. Is there anything you can’t do? I would have gladly paid 5 or 10 bucks for the extra content plus the SDK addition. Can’t wait to see the user-generated content that people are going to start cranking out.
Even if the 360 version would have cost money the PC version still would have been free. But it is great that it’s getting released on the 360 for free as well.

Hence my excitement. It was always a given that the PC version’s would be free.
Actually, you shouldn’t be thanking Valve, you should be thanking EA, since they are the ones who decide the pricing of all DLC.
