GamerSushi Asks: How Much Would You Pay For Natal?

project-natal-xbox-360Now, this question may seem premature, but I think it might be of use to Microsoft. There are no games yet and we don’t even know how accurate the demo at E3 was for certain, but based on what you have seen and their projections, what do you feel is a fair price for Natal? Bear in mind that you need a 360 to play it, though I am sure there will be bundles available. So if you don’t have a 360 and want to play Natal you will have to buy both. So what’s your projected price point?

  1. $100 or maybe $150. Anymore that than that would be ridiculous. And they would have to have a serious price drop on the 360 if they wanted to bundle the two.

  2. Oof. Well, I wouldn’t use natal at all, personally, unless it turns out to be a runaway success or Microsoft manages to make it gimmick-free. Still, if it was either of those, I’d pay $40-$60 for it.

  3. Honestly?
I would think, from everything I’ve seen so far, it should only cost as much as the Wireless controller, plus maybe $10, $15?
I like the idea, but honestly, from a few things I’ve seen, that WASN’T under Microsoft control, it seems a bit too, sensitive.
And also, I like to be able to grip something I’m using.
Like, playing Mario Kart is perfect, cus I got the steering wheel attachment. But just steering in the air…I don’t want my neighbor thinking I’ve gone insane.
Like I said, it’s a really good idea, but what games can they honestly put this with, that won’t end up being, odd.
I’m sure you won’t see Call of Duty of Splinter Cell or Halo get the compatibility any time soon, so not too many fan boys will be happy about that.

Do what I do: Play naked. They won’t notice the lack of a controller in your hand, trust me.

  5. No more than 50 bucks. Why? It’s just a camera and a microphone, both cost less than that. I suspect it will just be an USB attached camera&mic and a software update so it’s compatible. Of course, that’s the price I’d pay if I was a victim of xbox 3fixme.

  6. I wouldn’t pay anything for it. Unless the folks at Microsoft are bigger geniuses than they’ve been letting on recently, there is no physical way they can make NATAL control anything but the most mundane of movements. All you could be able to do is play are casual games, which frankly the Wii already does (possibly better). At least the WiiMote doubles as an actual remote.

Not that I think the Wii is any better, but this has gimmick written all over it. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this never get released. I’ve seen bigger promises fall apart.

I foresee this as Microsoft’s first major failure as a game company. Hopefully it’s one of the “Bounce back and become better than ever” kinds of failures and not a “Everything Sega did” kind of failure.

  7. From what I’ve seen it’s a much more impressive version of the EyeToy, so considering they were bundled at £50 with a game years ago, adding the ‘futuristic cost’ and the M$ ‘charge-a-bit-more-than-necessary’ policy and they’ll probably charge you £100 for it. I’d pay £60-70. No more but less would be better. Also, that’s assuming it’s any good. I spent £180 on a similar concept for a different games company.

  8. I am not into buying peripherals. At all. My friend bought the Wii gun thing, and used it once. It was so useless.

If I absolutely had to pay for Natal, I’d maybe shell out $150 bucks. I really can’t see the price point being any less, seeing as they’re making it out to be the next greatest thing for casual games since soccer moms.

The Wii gun? Hahaha. That thing is useless without the Wii Remote, lol. Tell your friend I have a bridge I wanna sell him.

  10. Ideally? None. lol I wouldn’t buy Natal even if it was the last mode of control. Either I use a controller, or I get a pair of virtual reality goggles.
But realistically, I think $50-$100 is what they’ll ask for. Of course I just have no idea.

  11. I’ll pay for this “TYPE” of thing when its part of the entire gaming world and is required.

I know that doesnt answer your question, so this will:

    $0.

    ahaha
    That’s classic

  13. I’m selling my Wii, because I’m sick of it. Natal can do nothing that will convince me to pay actual money for it.

Yeah, really. The only reason I even have one is for the off chance a Zelda game comes out. I’m still holding my breath for Nintendo to actually pony up with some (real) games.

If this is what we have to look forward to in motion controls, they can keep it.
