    SEGA!!!

    2. What was the first system system/game you remember trading in, and what for?
Never traded in a system, it was a game, and I think it was something I didn’t like for the Sega, for some cash.

    3. When I was a kid I had no concept of what games were coming out and when. What was the first that you remember really waiting for?
    Shadow the Hedgehog, or CoD

    4. For you PC gamers, what was the first game that made you upgrade your system specs? How much did you spend?
It had to of been Unreal Tournament 2004, and I spent $80?

    5. Name the first time you played a game that supported more than 2 players?
It had to of been Smash Brothers Melee.

    6. What great game did you miss that you really wish that you had played?
    I’m not really sure

    7. What is your favorite game of all time?
    OOOF!
    Tough question.
I have alot of these, but the top of the list would have to be CS:S. I just can never get over it.

  2. I refuse to answer as I feel this is part of Obama’s socialist agenda.

    Just kidding!

    1. The NES. Way back in 86 or so I think.

    2. Traded in my DS for a DS Lite.

    3. Super Mario World and the SNES. So excited.

    4. N/A

    5. Uh…wow. not counting the arcade, which would be the Ninja Turtle game, probably Mario Kart 64.

    6. Xenogears.

    7. Final Fantasy VI.

  3. 1. Family Shared: NES. Personal: Game Boy Pocket.

    2. Traded in Super Mario 64 for Goldeneye 007. I then re-bought Super Mario 64 a couple of months later.

    3. There were literally no magazines around when I was a kid here in the middle of nowhere. The first thing I remember actually waiting for was the game boy colour and I only found out about it from a friend who had got loads of magazines from his holiday.

    4. I upgraded from a laptop to a pc so I could actually play games and from that pc to my current pc for no one game, it was just because I was being forced down to playing on low settings by the latest games.

    5. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the Mega Drive

    6. Any game like that I have since gone back and played. Everyone goes on about the Super Smash Bros games but I have never played any of them.

    7. Any game from the Half-Life series. If I had to pick one, Half-Life 2.

  4. Nintendo

Probably a PSX, but for what, I’ll never remember.

2 words: Chrono Cross; First game I ever pre-ordered.

I’ve never upgraded my hardware specifically for gaming purposes.

    Mortal Combat probably

    Panzer Dragoon Orta.

The closest I have to a single favorite game is Shadow of the Colossus, soon to be beaten by The Last Guardian (I hope).

If I had a PAL PS2, I’d probably say ICO, since they ruined the game for us westerners.

Also note that I have no next gen system yet (I have a Wii, but I can’t bring myself to count that). I’m looking forward to several games that could easily change this answer once I break down and buy a PS3.

  5. 1.First system I ever owned was a Game Boy Colour, I got it from my aunt.

2.We traded in some old NHL game for gamecube, got something a while later with the store credit we got

    3. The biggest thing I waited for was probably Paper Mario for N64, found out about it from my brother.

    4. My current PC has worked since I started more seriously playing PC games but the game that is making me build myself a new system is Arma 2. Arma 2 looks gorgeous on high settings with full AA but on my little 9600gt it runs on low at about 20fps

    5.Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 for N64

    6. I really wished I had played Metal Gear Solid 3

    7. S.T.AL.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl.

  6. 1. NES for life. Represent.

    2. Traded in my GameCube for an X Box. I later bought a GameCube again.

    3. Honestly, Halo 2. Games used to to just come out, and I would pick them up. I had no concept of release dates.

    4. I am a PC gamer, but no game has ever made me consciously upgrade my system. Battlefield 2142 and Company of Heroes comes close. And don’t ask about the price.

    5. Goldeneye on the N64.

    6. I can’t really think of one, but Final Fantasy 7, I guess.

    7. Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.

  7. Awesome, love these!
    1. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but…PS1. I grew up in a non-gaming family, so my parents didn’t have any relics for me to enjoy.

    2. I actually haven’t traded in any systems. I still have my first PS1, N64, as well as a PS2, Xbox, and GC. Still no Wii, 360, or PS3 though.

    3. Honestly, I just went with the flow for a very, very long time. The first game I actually remember waiting for was the Orange Box, a mere … I dunno, 3 or 4 years ago?

    4. Republic Commando. Before that game came out I didn’t even know PCs came in different speeds. Then when I found out that my video card only had 8mb of memory as opposed to the 64 required, well, I had no idea what the game was talking about.

    5. Battlefield 1942. Great series, try it if you still haven’t.

    6. Freespace 2. I so want to play it, considering the open-world-edness of it, and how much I loved Freelancer, but unfortunately the gameplay is unbearable without a joystick.

    7. Morrowind. I have logged over 400 hours in that game and climbing.

  8. 1. PS2 back when I was 8. 9 years later it’s still with me.

    2. Never traded a system for sentimental purposes, but the first games I traded were Conflict: Vietnam and FFX (FFX was scratched too much to work and has since been replaced) which I believe I got Red Faction 2 and Project Eden LONG after their release.

    3. It was probably Timesplitters: Future Perfect. It was the first game I got at launch.

    4. N/A

    5. Either Didfy Kong Racing or Goldeneye, don’t know which was first as they were both on the same day. I can remember my uncle showing me and my cousins both of them.

    6. The Legend of Zelda: Majoraโ€™s Mask.

    7. Arrgh, don’t make me choose! RE4, MGS4 or Hitman: Blood Money? *Ponders for 15mins*
I have made a choice: MGS4:GotP. Pure fan service, great gameplay and brilliant story.

  9. 1. What was the first system you ever owned?

    The N64.

    2. What was the first system system/game you remember trading in, and what for?

    I have no clue.

    3. When I was a kid I had no concept of what games were coming out and when. What was the first that you remember really waiting for?

I remember waiting for the release of the ps2

    4. For you PC gamers, what was the first game that made you upgrade your system specs? How much did you spend?

    Never had to

    5. Name the first time you played a game that supported more than 2 players?

Probably not the first time but I used to play goldeneye all the time with my friends

    6. What great game did you miss that you really wish that you had played?

    Starcraft

    7. What is your favorite game of all time?

Well I have have to say Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne because I have sunk thousands of hours into playing custom games

  10. 1. gameboy (orginal and i still have it on a draw)

2.never swapped anything i have full collection of all systems
this means i have a playstation, playstation 2, gameboy, 2 game colours, 2 gamboy advace sp’s and old bits of computers in boxes

3.spore i heard about its release 2 years before it was released shame i havent even got it yet

    4. last year ยฃ725 cos i eeded a new 1 (old 1 was about 5 years old)

    5. warcraft3 battlenet and still my favroite online rts game

    6. erm i duno useualy get all the games i want and that quite limited to my effortness and i am lazy

    7. counter strike source ftw

  11. Awesome, another quiz! I still want another WYR. lol

    1. Gameboy Color is what got my brother into gaming, and I followed suit, being the younger brother that I am. Pokemon Red was our first game, and we still play it once in a while. I saw “we” because, as far as games were concerned, me and my bro played RPG’s and fighters and adventures together, or at least him with the controller and me pointing out enemies, items, and ideas. I was playing just as much as he was. We still play this way for some games, like Assassin’s Creed for example, but ever since Halo, that’s when I started playing console/PC games on my own.

    2. We never gave up our N64, but we did trade in our Gamecube for a Wii. That’s actually the only time we’ve ever traded in a game system.

    3. lol Me neither, man. If we saw a game on the shelf, it was by chance. The first game where I was really super psyched was Halo 3. And right now…well, you know what game I can’t wait for.

    4. I have yet to up my specs for my PC, but I’ll probably have to do so soon. Of course, first of all I have to sort out my server issue. Yeah, I might as well elaborate: every since a while ago, I haven’t been able to join any online servers for my PC games. No Steam games, no Combat Arms (which uses Nexon), so that means that it’s not just Steam. I checked my connection to the internet via the router and whatnot, and I barely know how it works. Yeah I’m a simpleton and I don’t know anything about computers. But basically I can’t get the server list for Steam games nor Combat Arms, but of course I can access non-game internet fine. If you guys could help me out, I’d more than appreciate it. I really want to play some Insurgency. lol

    5. Halo 1 for the PC, my second FPS game ever (Big Red One was my first, now that I recall). Before that, I had played a bunch of RTS games on the PC but never online, and I always played fighters or RPG’s or adventure games on the console which were all just singleplayer.

    6. Oh geez, where do I start? Well, the top three games I wished I played are Super Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, and Beyond Good & Evil.

    7. Modern Warfare 2. lol Honestly I don’t like to have a favorite game EVER because each genre is too different to decide if FPS is better than RPG, etc. So in the end, here’s my favorite of each genre:
Call of Duty: World at War is my favorite FPS because it does actually have some great multiplayer despite a bunch of flaws, and it also has Nazi Zombies, which is easily the best Bonus Mode in the history of ever. Once Modern Warfare 2 comes out, MW2 will definitely replace CoD:WaW.
Fallout 3 is my favorite RPG of all time (it’s not an FPS!!!) because it’s rich story, atmosphere, exploration, and VATS system come together just about flawlessly to create one of the most incredible experiences I’ve had in a video game. For now, I don’t think any other RPG will replace Fallout 3.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my favorite adventure game because, when I was a kid, it was the best piece of matter in the world. Even now, I love the story, gameplay, and graphics. It was and still is an epic for the ages. I have a feeling that Assassin’s Creed 2 will replace LoZOot.
RPG’s, FPS’s, and Adventures are my main three genres, so that’s all that really matters.

There ya go, guys. And please, if you can help me with my servers problem, I’d really appreciate it. Thnax!!

  12. 1. Actual system was the Gamecube, my older brother “owned” all the other Nintendos, dating back to the NES.

    2. The only game I ever traded in was a Spyro one for G-Cube, and I get a whole 5 bucks for it.

    3. I don’t remember the very first one I waited for, but I do remember a little anticipation for Majora’s Mask and consequently, every Zelda game after. I did go to the Midnight release of SSBB.

    4. The Orange Box really got me into PC gaming and it really made me upgrade because Portal lagged like a b*tch. Spent $100 at Fry’s getting 2 more gigs of RAM ($100 w/ a $50 mail in rebate), and a GEFORCE 8400 GT graphics card ($80 with a $30 mail in rebate). So worth it. Portal ran smoother than cake frosting after that.

    5. Battletanx: Global Assult for N64, although we only had 2 remotes when we first got the 64, so me and my bro played a lot of co-op for a while. Battletanx was also our first 64 game.

    6. I want to play Super Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars. I knew everything about that game without even touching it, and I’d love to get my hands on it. I did way back when, but I could never find it and settled with Speed Racer for SNES.

    7. Favorite game ever: Between Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Bioshock and Star Fox 64. Those games will forever be at the top of my list, methinks.

  13. 1. The first system I ever owned was an NES. The good ol’ cartridge/slot blowing NES. It was a beautiful thing. Sure beat the hell out of my little tinker toy xylophone, though the two addictions, games and playing music, have never died.

    2. We didn’t trade the NES, but we traded the SNES in for a Sega Genesis. It was the first time me and my brothers got to play Street Fighter 2 at home, though we had played it at the arcades often. I am and always will be a Ken fanboy.

    3. Hmmm…probably the first game I really remember waiting for, that I wanted more than anything in the world, was Zelda 64. It was around that time that I really started getting into the whole video game magazine thing, and seeing previews of it just got me so excited. I started a countdown to the release of the n64, while still clutching my Genesis lovingly, replaying Shinobi 3 over and over.

    4. The first game that made me upgrade was probably Quake 2. At the time the machine I was using was barely handling Doom, and I finally got fed up with it, and just kept pestering my step-dad. Eventually we got a new system built up, though I’m not sure what the cost was anymore. On a more personal level of my time spent building machines, the one I did a serious upgrade for was Half Life 2. Spent around 2 grand building a new machine to make sure I would be up to spec…got HL 2, and it kinda fell way side to a WoW addiction. Though once I finally freed myself of that, I went back to HL2 and beat it, and still play a lot of CS: Source.

    5. More than 2…Gauntlet! Definitely, one of the all time greats, me and my brothers were addicted as hell to it. It ate a lot of quarters, that’s for sure…especially when double crossing started.

    6. Wow…I never actually got to really play it much, much less finish it, but I did get to watch my brother beat it, which I don’t know if that counts. But it’s Castlevania: Symphony of the Night…it was the first Castlevania game that enthralled me, and with the DS series, I got horribly hooked, went back through the old catalog. But still, I have never played more than 10 minutes of SotN.

    7. That is a hard question. I have so many great favorites. I think if I had to rate one above all else, as much as people tout Ocarina of Time…my choice would have to be Shadow of the Collosus, just barely above Prince of Persia on the GameCube. Shadow of the Collosus took what’s great about games, the boss fights, turned up the epicness and the awesomeness, and just ran it through an entire game. While it could be easily run through in a day or two at first, going back and redoing everything at the hardest level, really just got your adrenaline pumping as these giants are tossing you around like a flea. Greatest moments in video gaming history ever in my eyes.

  14. I don’t usually post on here. I love checking this site out daily. You guys do a real good job making this site interesting to check out.
    Anyway…
    1. Commodore 64 was the first gaming machine our family had. NES was the first console. I guess I’m showing how old I am huh?
    2. I always refused to trade systems in. We still have our original NES, SNES, N64, PSX & PS2. Actually, my parents still have the NES, SNES, N64 & PSX. I have the PS2, and a PS3. I like to keep them for flashback moments. I’ve only traded in 1 game ever. And that was God of War 2. It was given to me for my birthday a couple years ago, but I had no interest in playing it, so I traded it in for cash at FYE and got ripped off. $5 for a brand new, never opened game? Come on!
    3. First game I ever really really wanted – Half Life.
    4. I’ve yet to spend more than $50.00 for a computer. But, my dad did upgrade to a new PC when the first Intel Pentium chip came out…. ah 60mhz, those were the good ol days. It was like the speed of light back then. That’s when we started to play Doom!
    5. 2 player game? What’s that? I think there were some on the Com.64, but I can’t recall the exact game(s).
    6. Xenogears. I really regret never getting that game. But maybe if they release it on PSN, I’ll get it and play it on my PSP.
    7. Ok, I know this answer might upset some devout Final Fantasy fans. My favorite is Final Fantasy VII. Most likely because it was the first one I played. I played it so much, the disc look like they are warped. I still have it here with me…but I refuse to open the case anymore because the disc look so fragile. So I ended up buying FF7 again on the PSN. I’m currently replaying it. Chrono Trigger comes in a very close 2nd.

  15. 1. What was the first system you ever owned?

-There was NES when I was a toddler, but the first one I can remember playing was SNES (which was my parents). I’ve never owned my OWN console, only PC’s

    2. What was the first system system/game you remember trading in, and what for?

-Don’t remember ever trading in games, I mostly just kept them all like beautiful keepsakes.

    3. What was the first that you remember really waiting for?

-Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. At the time, I didn’t have internet, and couldn’t WAIT for a CS Campaign… Boy what a let down.

    4. For you PC gamers, what was the first game that made you upgrade your system specs? How much did you spend?

-I’ve always upgraded, but I don’t remember doing it for a specific game. If I had to pick a “main” reason, it would be Half-Life 2.

    5. Name the first time you played a game that supported more than 2 players?

-NHL 93 with my dad on SNES. Or Super Mario Bros.

    6. What great game did you miss that you really wish that you had played?

-Don’t know. If I didn’t play it, it probably wasn’t all that great.

    7. What is your favorite game of all time?

-Super Mario Bros (SNES), Half-Life 2, Fallout 3 is up there, Grand Theft Auto 3. Its really a toss up.

  16. 1. Game cube. Some how I wasn’t that interested in consoles that much. Plying with my Legos andsuch lol

    2. I actually didn’t trade anything before, I haved sold games tho ๐Ÿ˜€

    3. I also had no idea what the new games would be, but I was excited to get Pikmin 2

4.Just recently. HL2, Garry’s mod, and CS:S was pretty laggy and when the Orange box engine came in, the PC crashed a lot!
So I jus got a new gaming laptop for, probably 1200$ USDs

    5. Lego racers. Hell yeah.

    6. Probably also Lego racers, that was an addictive game. I can’t play it on my new PC for a reason, meh.

    7. Woah, that question is like, who’s your favorite family member.
Pretty hard to decide. I’ll pass on this one lol

  17. 1. A SNES. good memories.

    2. I traded Crackdown for Mass Effect. best trade ever.

    3. I too, didnt keep track until Battlefront 2.

    4. N/A

    5. Hmm. Goldeneye and Diddy Kong Racing. Unless you count Super Mario on 2 player mode.

    6. My Xbox has a red ring, it should come back next week, so ive missed all the great games of the summer.

    7. its a throw up. ive got great memories on so many games, but ive got to say that oblivion, mass effect, bioshock, and fallout 3. there all pretty recent but i love them to death

  18. 1. What was the first system you ever owned?

PC. Oh how I used to love childrens games for the PC!

    2. What was the first system system/game you remember trading in, and what for?

Some old Xbox games. I took them to gamestop for some cash, unfortunately at that point I didn’t know I got in-store credit ๐Ÿ™

    3. When I was a kid I had no concept of what games were coming out and when. What was the first that you remember really waiting for?

I’d have to say Madden, up until then I just kinda played games that were already out. I remember this one game that was a prettied-up version of Asteroids. Ah fun times.

    4. For you PC gamers, what was the first game that made you upgrade your system specs? How much did you spend?

Americas Army 2. My old comp could only handle one map on that game and so, with Vista coming out soon I got it upgraded. Cost: $1200

    5. Name the first time you played a game that supported more than 2 players?

Lego Racers. A great series if you ask me. I personally loved it (even if it was just Lego Mario-Kart) I remember doing a race with my dad on that game, I thought I was on the top screen and as a result failed epicly. D’oh!

    6. What great game did you miss that you really wish that you had played?

Geez, I would say Lego Racers but I have both of the discs right in front of me… Hmm… I have NO idea. As of right now I haven’t played Gears 2 but I can head over to a friend’s place and play that. Oh! I got it! Starcraft! I have NEVER played Starcraft. Or Command and Conquer, never played ANY of those games.

    7. What is your favorite game of all time?

Three-Way Tie. Fallout 3 (with all the DLC), Medieval 2: Total war (With the Kingdoms expansion), or This one Winne-The-Pooh game. I can’t remember it but it had a nice collection of mini-games that kept me entertained for HOURS as a kid. Nostalgia FTW!

  19. 1. NES. It only came with three games: Super Mario Bros, Paper Boy, and Duck Hunt.

    2. N/A. I guess I’m a game pack rat.

    3. Star Wars Battlefront II. Prior to that, I just picked out what “looked good”. Made some horrible mistakes that way.

    4. N/A. Set graphics to low and everything’s fine.

    5. GameCube: Super Smash Bros Melee. Still one of my all-time favourite games.

    6. Counter-Strike Source. Although, I guess I could still go and pick it up…

    7. Counter-Strike. Though many games were great, that one alone kept me busy for a year and a half.

  20. 1. My N64.

    2. Um… I remember trading something or other for the expansion pack, so I could play LoZ: Majora’s Mask. Don’t remember what I traded, but I know I don’t regret it.

    3. Um… Probably Banjo Tooie. Those two games are still on my “Best Games Ever” list.

    4. Hmm… I don’t ever remember doing this. But my new computer has been able to handle anything I stick in it, so I guess that sorta counts. Don’t remember how much it cost, really. It’s more for function than for gaming.

    5. Um… It was probably 007 Goldeneye. Damn, me and my friends LOVED that game.

    6. Jet Force Gemini. Jeez, this is pretty N64-oriented, isn’t it?

    7. Tough. Really tough. I’m gonna go with Super Mario World, just because it’s the first game I ever played, and it’s the whole reason I’m into games in the first place. If it weren’t for that game, I wouldn’t be the gamer I am today, and that’s worth something.
