Happy Turkey Day to my fellow Canucks, and um, happy Columbus Day to my friends in the States. Seeing as how this is a nice long weekend, perfect for unwinding from the stresses of our daily lives, I thought it would be pertinent to do our monthly checkup on your gaming habits.
Personally, I had a nice zombie-themed day yesterday with a few of my friends, and just zoned out on Nazi Zombies and Left 4 Dead. To cap it all off, we checked out Zombieland, which gets two hearty thumbs up from me. Check it out if you like laughter…or gore.
Besides zombies, I picked up Operation: Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, and so far it’s really engaging. It’s a lot more “realistic” than, say, Call of Duty, which makes it perfect for my mood right now. I’ve only played an hour or so, and it’s got my hungry for more.
What about you guys, though? I know Uncharted 2 and BrĂ¼tal Legend don’t come out until Tuesday (who was the genius that came up with releasing these games after a long weekend?), but I’m planning on picking them up anyways, following up with some Borderlands. Are you planning on getting any of these titles, and what’s in your box, station, or PC right now? Answer, or we shall make you play Wii shovel-ware from now until the release of the 2012 movie, which we will force you to watch. It will be torture unending.
*sits down with a full stomach*
Mmm. I’ve just reinstalled Half-Life 2, loving it all over again. My cousin at a family gathering today told me about Call of Juarez and gave it the thumbs up so I’m actually just about to install it and give that a run through.
Well, I’m trying to beat CoD 2 on Veteran on my first playthrough because I loaned Mirror’s Edge to a friend for it. Other than that I’ve been playing EVE Online and in a mad dash to reach lvl 55 in my current CoD 4 Presige level.
same as always TF2 and various steam mods
I’ve actually downgraded to simple flash games, I’ve been sick the past week and simple mindless games seemed really appealing. and While I’ll only have a few hours with borderlands I think I might pick it up. I’m leaving for army boot camp on the 21st, but that gives me the 20th to play it!
No! Not Wii nor 2012! I call Geneva Convention! I have my rights!!!
Anyway, it’s funny – me and my friends had a Zombiefest too! Tomorrow is when we’ll go at it again with more games and more people, but today we played three games of Nazi Zombies, first going to 25, 29, and 38, breaking our record. We took a short break and loaded up several games of Left 4 Dead. None of us got Crash Course except for one guy who said it wasn’t worth it, so we had tons of fun with the 4 maps. Dead Air ftw! After that we played Gears 2 Horde for a few games, but then the lag sunk our battleship, so we played some ODST and got about five achievements. Wootsauce. So that was an epic day of fun, and I finished the day with a low-budget but still well developed movie and now I’m on the interwebz. ‘Twas a great day, and tomorrow is part 2!
oooOoOoOh! I forgot to mention the Machinarium DEMO. Grab it on steam immediately if you love great puzzle games or fantastic art. I can’t wait to purchase it.
Fallout 3 DLC, currently on Mothership Zeta, already done with Broken Steel and Op: Anchorage.
Also, Hot Shots Golf for the ps3
Do you have a PS3 Mitch? Or is Uncharted 2 for someone else’s console?
Over here in the land of the green fields and leprechauns we’re not celebrating anything that brings us turkey (25/12/09 is the next opportunity). I got Batman Arkham Asylum off a friend and completed it, so I’m getting the remaining trophies before returning it! My friend got OF:DR and, really, the realism doesn’t really change the gameplay. It’s like the 1st BiA, modern day/warfare edition. I enjoyed what I played, but for a realistic MilSim, it doesn’t prevent standard gaming conventions from working. Also I’ll be picking up Uncharted 2 on Friday and MAYBE Fallout3 GotY (Euro release for both) so to everyone on GamerSushi, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT reveal ANY info on the story, characters or big shoot-outs in Uncharted 2. Thank you.
Dang, Skuba, you ruined my idea for our next feature: All the Plot Points in Uncharted 2 Exposed! Well, guess I’ll have to use plan b.
And no, I don’t own a PS3, but I have regular and easy access to one.
LOL, what’s plan B? Write the article in a cryptic code? Actually deciphering a GS article sounds like fun! Actually, no. It doesn’t. Unless it’s very easy. Not like Futurama’s ‘Alien language 2’.
Forgot to throw in the BrĂ¼tal Legend demo earlier. Great fun!
