GamerSushi Asks: What’s On Your Radar?

After Christmas, there is usually a dull period, where we have time to bask in the post-holiday glow, content to play the games we just received.

But not this year! Thanks to Modern Warfare 2, gamers are now subjected to what some refer to as “Second Christmas”. And knowing the way the game industry works, this won’t be the last time this happens.

Already we have had Bayonetta, Darksiders, MAG, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, and White Knight Chronicles hit the market. Heavy Rain comes out Tuesday and March promises to be one of the biggest months in recent memory.

Scheduled to be released in March are Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Yakuza 3, Metro 2033, Just Cause 2, Red Steel 2 and Supreme Commander 2. All worthwhile titles with great potential.

Personally, I will be getting Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III on day 1. What games are you guys looking forward to playing? Is there anything coming up beyond March that makes you salivate?

  1. Heavy Rain and BFBC 2 on day 1 (hopefully)! GoW3 and FFXIII will have to wait until summer as, to my knowledge, there is nothing as per usual. Beyond that, the usual CoD update ought to be interesting and I’m really looking forward to Spec Ops: The Line. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

    This.

I was looking forward to Supreme Commander 2, but it sounds less interesting than I had hoped. They took out the whole massive base building aspect and streamlined the army building. I’ll wait for the reviews.

  3. I’m supa sexay psyched for Halo Reach. The Beta is on May 3rd, and I can’t wait for Bungie’s new and final Halo. Well, at least they SAY it’s their final Halo. lol This time I think they mean it. Anyway, Reach looks really good, and it even got me to go back to playing Halo 3 and ODST, and they’re tons o’ fun, especially with the Living Dead Double EXP Weekend that’s going on right now.

Anything in the more recent future?

  5. L4D 1 and 2 because of the DLC. Can’t wait for it. Not to mention the fact that I can’t help but go through all the new sound files when it they come out. Many are achievement or stat whores. Me…well I’m an audio file whore. =P

  6. GoW3 and Heavy Rain and my possibles, because i want more use out of my PS3. I also really want BFBC2, after loving the demo, but i think ill wait for it.

  7. @ Anthony

Well I’m also psyched for The Passing, the DLC for L4D1 and 2, like AlphaHawk said. Anything new to get me to play my favorite Co-op Game of all time along with other folks who are still playing is great news for me.

  8. Well, I WAS psyched for Alien vs Predator until the review started trickling in. Failing that, I guess I’m excited about Red Steel 2 and, in the slightly more distant future (late April), Super Street Fighter IV and Red Dead Redemption.

Oh, and to be honest, I’m actually excited to play the release version of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing (hits this week, I think). The demo was insanely fun.

  9. @ zayven: My friend, as well as Angry Joe from the Angry Joe Show, said that the reviews of AVP are mostly bullshit. My friend has bought the game and says the combat is intense and awesome, and while each character, especially Predators, need some practice to use effectively, it’s a lot of fun and the skillful and frantic gameplay is terrifyingly fun, especially in Survival mode.

  10. I played the demo and was less than enthused. I know it’s just a demo and that multiplayer deathmatch isn’t the best way to judge a game, but it just feels like a 10 year old game with a fresh coat of HD paint.

Rebellion had the chance to do something truly special with it, but they just opted to rehash the game they made 10 years ago. I’d rather play AVP 2 on the PC, which you can now download for about 10 bucks.

  11. Nothing. Just picked up FFT for the PSP and got back into SSBM. Behind the times? Perhaps, but there aren’t many games of that caliber coming out anytime soon.

  12.
I’ll still end up renting AVP, by the way, but I’m not going to buy it.
They said they will make a sequel, so let’s hope for improvements there.
