Well, E3 2010 has come and gone, and boy is there a lot to talk about. And talk we did. In this special E3 edition of the GamerSushi podcast, we tackle all three of the big console press conferences, the surprises (or lack thereof), motion control and even the ghosts of E3 past. This is probably our most fluid and lengthy podcast yet, and we easily could have gone on for another hour about all this stuff.
Hopefully you don’t hate it.
As you’ll hear me say in the beginning of the podcast, E3 is one of my most anticipated times of the year, so it’s hard for me to contain my enthusiasm for much of this session. Anyway, we hope you guys like it, and feel free to share your thoughts on our E3 themed discussions.
By the way, the date for E3 2011 has already been announced as June 7-9 of next year. Road trip?
Here are this week’s topics:
The Magic of E3
What does E3 mean to you?
Favorite E3 moments of the past?
The pre-show rumor insanity
Microsoft
Call of Duty: Black Ops and console exclusives
Gears of War 3’s 4 player co-operative mode
Halo Reach’s impressive solo campaign gameplay
Metal Gear Rising is MGS 3.5-ish?
XBox Kinect and the great press conference train wreck
Nintendo
Zelda lives in the clouds in Skyward Sword
Kid Icarus brings tears to Anthony’s eyes
Nintendo 3DS equals do want
Sony
Twisted Metal brings the nostalgia
Valve jerks us around and debuts Portal 2
PlayStation Move might actually get it
Kevin Butler wins E3
3D Gaming
Wrap-up
Grading the press conferences
At a grand total of just under 2 hours, those topics clearly don’t scratch the surface and all the excellent rabbit holes we went down. I really love the discussion on this particular episode. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to hit on the questions you guys submitted, but this was a special case in that it was the week of E3. We’ll be sure to devote a significant portion of the next podcast to the topics you guys raised.
Thanks for listening, guys, and tell your friends that we are awesome.

Another great podcast guys!
Another great podcast guys, really enjoying these shows.
This is the first E3 I’ve really followed closely, mainly because of some of the rumours I’d heard. Always having been a Nintendo fanboy, it was fantastic to get a great press conference from them, especially after a few disappointing showings the last few years, and you guys nailed when you were talking about Zelda getting overshadowed. It was a great show from Nintendo. The only problem I had with it, and the 3DS in particular, is that i want it now! When I was watching the Nintendo show on gametrailers.com and they were announcing all the 3rd party games, I was almost falling out of my chair, I was just floored.
I will admit that Sony also had a pretty good show, but since i dont own a PS3 or Xbox360, the Sony and Microsoft shows were never going to appeal to me as much.
If I was going to give ratings for the shows I have to use the Gamersushi grade chart just so i can give Nintendo an “S”, Sony gets an “A” and Microsoft gets a “D”.
I think when it comes down to 99 or 149, it’s not a ridiculous difference. It’s just a matter of if either of the two options blows you away, and as far as it sounds from the cast, no one’s interested. It could be 50 or 30 bucks, if there’s no games I wanna play with it, I still don’t wanna buy it. 30 bucks buys me a classic 10/10 game I can play with a controller.
(Sorry double) I was talking about Natal/Move up there to clarify.
Also, Twisted Metal 2 was the game my brother and I played the crap out of one summer, very similar story. I couldn’t be more excited. The series really fell apart with each version after 1 and 2, but I have high hopes for the new one.
Another great pod cast dudes!
Another amazing podcast, guys. Since I missed a lot of Microsoft and Sony’s conference, it was good to have it recapped here. The ending was full of very hearty lulz as well. Can’t wait for the next one! 😀

Twisted Metal Black for the PS2 was easily the best one.
C’mon Anthony. Nostalgia of a great, polished game > the same mechanic with updated graphics any day =). It’s time for change, thats probably why they waited so long. They’ve got a whole new 12 year old market to target.

There was a lot more to Twisted Metal Black than simply updated graphics.
Twisted Metal 3 and 4 were not well-received and TM: Black was able to put the series back on track with MUCH faster gameplay, tight controls, dark imagery and a deep single player mode.
TM: Black is my favorite, as I played that one more than any other in the series.
