Another year means another Call of Duty and this time Treyarch is back in the driver’s seat. Following up on Modern Warfare 2’s massive success, it doesn’t look like the franchises’ B-studio is taking any chances with the formula. Judging by the gameplay it looks to be largely the same, but with a few graphical tweaks and a remote control car bomb. The big news this time, though, is the inclusion of replays to the game, allowing you to go back and watch old matches. If the few moments it appears in the trailer are any indication, it looks to be similar to Halo 3’s Theater mode where you can break the camera out and rotate it around. No word on whether or not you can share the films, but I don’t think that’s out of the question. Take a look at the video:
Ever since Treyarch announced that Black Ops would have dedicated servers on the PC, I’ve been slightly hopeful for this new Call of Duty. If Treyarch brings us more cool stuff, I may consider sinking money into this iteration. What about you guys? What’s your opinion on this video reveal?
The player didn’t get shot at much, but it does look like they removed the kool-aid, from one scene.
I am just getting wind of this, and I am super excited about it.
I think that this is something that should be in ALL FPS games. Its super fun to be able to re-live and re-play games, not just re-tell the story of what happened. I personally hope this comes into more games.
I am, however, worried about some of the weapons in the game. While cool, I think its going to be very interesting to play. Honestly, look at the array of whats there. It could be awesome, or just plain ridiculous (and not in the good way)
Still very excited
Dedicated servers means I might actually pick this one up. BFBC2 has grown a little stale, need something fresh again.
Looks like I’ll have a cool weekend with this. I’m still not buying Black Ops, but it seems like Treyarch is really listening to the fans and making an effort to make good game. I’m looking forward to seeing more Zombie news.
I love that camera at the start. How useful would that be for Search and Destroys?
This replay feature is much appreciated. I love when I can record an epic killstreak or show some awesome lucky shot. Good job Treyarch. Keep up the good work and you’ve got yourself another sale.
This looks pretty cool, I must admit.
Cool that they’re doing it but CoD replays just won’t be very interesting to watch compared to Halo’s. Call of Duty it’s all about reaction time, so each video will be showing off how quickly someone killed another. However in Halo you can showcase stuff like leaping off a mongoose, sending it flying towards a lift and it launches itself towards an enemy across the map and hits him in the head (my personal favorite kill of mine). Good for Treyarch to actually add something to the franchise, but some new gameplay options would be nice instead of being MW2 in vietnam.
Epic dolphin dive at 00:37
At the end when it shows the “Manage Segments” it reminded me of a machinima maker. Maps look very industrial but bigger this time around. Overall, It looks very polished but I can already hear complaints about the homing missiles.

I don’t see Vietnam in that trailer, at all. To the contrary, I see snow, and what looked like either a Space Shuttle or a Missle. Though, some of the weapons look like they could have been used in Vietnam.
Did anyone notice the red dot sight was a smiley face?
