If there’s anything that the HD console generation has brought us, it’s the tantalizing promise of HD remakes of some of our old favorites. Inspired by this new (and hopefully spreading) trend, GamesRadar put together a wish list of 13 Playstation 2 HD remakes. I have to say, just thinking about that kind of thing gets my engines going. As one of the best consoles we’ve had, the idea of seeing Jak and Daxter, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid restored and remastered for HD would be more than a bit incredible.
Ideally, we could spread that around a little bit to older developers and consoles, but that’s a bit more of a stretch than upgrading things from the PS2, no doubt. I’d love an HD Super Mario 64 (if Nintendo could get in on the HD game), as well as Link to the Past and some of the older Final Fantasy games. What would be on your wishlist for an HD remake? Go!

I’d Really like a Super Mario RPG hd remake if possible mgs3 is the obvious along with dmc3 but one final fantasy game id like to be remade in hd is ff9.
This is something I like. One of the things that bothers me about video games is that older games sometimes become impossible to play as the years go by, whether due to consoles being traded in or games being traded in, consoles wearing out, etc…
It saddens me that people won’t be able to play some of the all time classics.
The Mark of Kri, for those of you who don’t know, was one of the BEST games on the PS2. It still holds up today.
But I would want to see an HD remake of Final Fantasy VI or even Tactics. I think a strategy game with awesome HD graphics, like Valkyria Chronicles had, would be really fun.
Halo 1. OMG.
Hitman 1-4 and Freedom Fighters! MAKE IT HAPPEN IO! Stop screwing around with Kane & Lynch and fulfil my wishes!

+1 to Super Mario RPG. That game is so stinking good. Really all those great classics from the 16 bit era need to see more remakes.
I think the big problem when you start doing things from that far back, though, is that developers want to do something completely different with them in terms of gameplay. Really, I just want the same game with some better visuals. Seems like it wouldn’t be too hard.
Full Throttle, Thief, Commander Keen, Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure, Beyond Good and Evil, and who doesn’t want Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy in the Heavy Rain engine!
I’m trying to think of older games that I never got to play but I’ve heard lots of good things about. Things like the old SNES RPG’s like Mother, Earthbound and Secret of Mana, System Shock 1 and 2, the Deus Ex games. Oh, and a Banjo Kazooie remake, I played the original to death

It really depends on the developer I can’t really see Nintendo screwing up a their own game.
