Nathan Fillion Campaigns to be Nathan Drake in Uncharted Movie

Sometimes, the stars align in a perfect way and then all is right with the ‘Verse. We aren’t at that point yet, but we are on the right track because Nerd Hero and All-Around Awesome Guy Nathan Fillion tweeted a message linking to a story about David O. Russell being attached to direct the Uncharted movie and indirectly asking his followers to campaign for him to get the role.

Now, myself and countless others have been advocating for this ever since the original Uncharted was released. Drake’s sardonic, but heroic manner fits easily with Fillion’s smarmy charm and wit, as anyone who has seen Castle or Firefly would attest. It’s just nice to see Captain Reynolds himself get into the mix. I doubt anything will come out of this, as given the current trend in Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds will likely get the role, but a man can dream, can’t he?

Do you think Fillion would be good for the role of Drake? Barring that, who else would you like to see play the role? What about the rest of the cast, like Sully, Elena or Chloe? Speak now!

  2. Im just glad he is into the idea, I heard rumors or whatever but if hes not interested its all for nothing. Even if this campaign idea puts the idea in one exec’s head, its worth it. I cant see anyone else playing him but if I had to pick someone else…Bradley Cooper I guess?

  3. Nathan Fillion would be awesome, no doubt. However, Joe Flanigan recently as well. Anyone who’s watched him play Lt. Col. John Sheppard in Stargate Atlantis, and tries picturing him as Nathan Drake, might find themselves having the tough realization that Fillion may not be the perfect guy for the role. Honestly though, if either of those guys got the role, we’d win.

  6. I love Nathan Fillion as much as the next guy (unless the next guy is Anthony), but he’s getting a little…old.

    Not that he’s old old, but he’s not really an action star.

  8. OMG. This would be awesome. Nathan Fillion is an awesome actor. I can’t even think of who else could play that role accurately. Although I feel some retarded studio exec would say that Matthew McConaughey is a good choice. That would ruin my life. Oh I also have to suggest Bruce Campbell, just cause he is awesome and could also do the role, but he might also work better as Sully. Ryan Reynolds and Josh Duhamel tie for third pick.

    Sully = Bruce Campbell, J.K. Simmons, Tom Selleck, or Dennis Farina.
    Elena = Anna Torv, Elisabeth_Shue, Sarah Chalke, Sienna Miller, or Emily Rose (Original voice bonus)
    Chloe = Claudia Black: she’s gorgeous, a great actress, and the geek factor of the voice being the same for the game and film is pretty cool. Kate Beckinsale would be second choice for basically same reasons. Eva Green is third. Catherine Zeta-Jones Fourth.

    I think theres some law against them being on screen together. Something about rotation of the earth and the safety of people in the theatre, I cant really remember.

Grab him while you can for the Uncharted franchise. Because he’ll also make the best Indiana Jones when they re-boot those movies!!
