Mythbusting Call of Duty: Black Ops

In the past, we’ve seen a series of Mythbusters videos for popular online shooters Modern Warfare 2 and even Halo 3. Thus, it was only natural that Defend The House continued their popular series of multiplayer Mythbusters with a brand-spanking-new entry for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

This edition of the informative yet hilarious videos tackles a few key questions, such as whether or not care package helicopters can be shot down, or how to shoot down Valkyrie missiles. The most important issue it tackles, though, is this: can a man dive over a rocket? Really, it’s a question that needs answering, not just in Black Ops, but every day life. Lord knows it’s kept me up at night.

Have you run into any of these issues in your own online escapades? In general, how do you guys feel about Black Ops multiplayer so far?

  1. I think that was the best video these guys have done yet! Obviously diving over the RPG was rather awesome, but the three guys being voluntarily crushed by the doors was both hilarious and gruesome.

  2. LOL! There should be a challenge for that!!
Loving the multiplayer. Lvl 25 on 1st level Prestige. AK74U for life!
I know Mitch loves running into me with the AK74U with rapid fire…..

  3. I love these video series.

Black Ops MP is fun. It needs some fixes and has some latency issues, but its fun (XBL)
The Theatre mode also is far inferior to that of HALO but I give them credit for trying. The online uploading of vids to their site is also in BETA, far inferior and I HOPE they fix it. Some inferiorities include 6 slots ONLY in a file share, and the inability (unless Im wrong) to go into free fly camera after you record a video clip.

A HUGE issue in Black Ops also happens to be the Infinite Spawn Points that Trey Arch uses. It allows for an enemy to spawn on your ‘side’ of the map. Inferior and stupid system in my opinion. Im sure it was designed to “decrease camping”. It doesnt help. On COD MW2, when I got held to the other side of the map from camping, Then we tried to uproot them. Camping is a legit part of FPS multiplayer games. Terrible idea on their part.

The game also needs better maps. Too big or too small. Very few seem right. Firing Range is an example of a good sized map.

Overall, it needs some fixes, but Black Ops is fun.
