You thought you had a break, didn’t you? In your naivete, you thought that maybe, just maybe, there was going to be a brief lull for you to catch up on all of your games, before all of the big releases of 2011 rained down on us like manna from heaven. Sadly, you’re mistaken. You see, time has this way of sneaking past you – yes, it’s already almost March.
Between Dead Space 2, the Dragon Age 2 demo, the release of Bulletstorm, Killzone 3 and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, we gamers have our plates more than full. Sadly (or joyfully, depending on how you look at it), it’s only going to get crazier from here on out.
In terms of what I’m playing, I’ve been splitting my time between a small bit of Dead Space 2 (yes, I screamed like a girl), Little Big Planet 2 and my first ever playthrough of Final Fantasy VI Advance. I also tried my hand at the Dragon Age 2 demo today, and I have to say that I’m already in love with how they’ve revamped the combat. It feels slightly more hack-n-slash without losing that DA:O flavor that I loved. The art style is very nice in motion as well, so hopefully that will alleviate some concerns in that department. I’m not sure just yet how I feel about the conversation system, which has a little less moral gray than I would like, but I suppose I’ll have to wait and see how it pans out.
Needless to say, I’ve been infected with the Dragon Age flavor all over again and can’t wait for March 8th to get here. So what about you guys? What are you playing? Did any of you try out the demo? Go!
Dragon Age 2 never looked more promising! March 8th is going to signal some great gameplay!
I was playing Risen, which I was very happy with, spending about 24 hours in the game world before reaching the 3rd chapter… and then it dissolved into exploring a bigger, more boring cave that lacked any definition. I got stuck and bored and haven’t gone back since…
CS has been great though!
I’ve been playing the Shogun 2 demo and it does look good as some of the AI problems marring the previous titles are gone. Looking forward to Dragon Age 2 and I am downloading the demo as I (type?) speak.
Well, now that I saw this, I’m going to go home today and download the DA2 demo. I wasn’t too thrilled with Origins, but this looks good. Also, I finally played Costume Quest last weekend and that was a lot of fun, as is the Stacked Demo. Now, though, I’m on to Alundra.
I have been going back through Half-Life 2, playing Empire: Total War, Minecraft, and Sins of a Solar Empire which i suck at immensely. I am also going to play the Shogun: Total War demo along with the DA2 demo.
I’m in the middle of downloading the DA:2 demo. It’s the perfect was to test our improved Broadband lol. As of (hopefully) tonight and tomorrow onwards it will be: DA:2, that is all.
For now? Mass Effect 2. I had only ONE trophy left (the Insanity one, I’m about a third of the way through it) and now there’s new DLC being released. Back to 88% or so I go. I got a lend of Ass Bro and Medal of Honour so I’ve completed both of those (MoH in as good as one sitting, lol) and have been enjoying their multiplayer components.
I SERIOUSLY can’t wait to play Dragon Age! Homework can’t be done quick enough!
Also, Eddy it’s been weird seeing you online for a change. 😛 LBP2 must be good.
Playing a lot of Bulletstorm (which is awesome) and checked out the Dragon Age demo. I played it on the 360 first, even though I’ll be getting the PC version (got import my save!) and I found it nearly unplayable. Went to the PC version and absolutely loved it. Something about Dragon Age makes me have to play it with mouse and keyboard. I guess it’s because I pause so much, and quickly tapping the space bar and executing attacks plays a lot smoother to me.
Still playing oblivion.
I recommend the latest game I have been playing though to anyone who was a fan of the previous game –
Hydro Thunder Hurricaine for the xBox. Its an arcade game (1200 M$ points for the full game – 400 for the expansion) The game itself is actually really fun and technically it is a sequel. I may throw up a review for this bad boy soon. 🙂
Bad Company 2 on the PC. My friend and I have moved from Rush to Conquest, and we’re having a blast. Rush is great fun, but when you’re on a team full of snipers when it’s your turn to attack, it gets old pretty fast.
I also enjoyed the Dragon Age 2 demo, definitely sold me on the game. Also playing Bulletstorm…sigh.
As predicted, Dragon Age 2 is awesome. A system shock (didn’t expect it to look and play the way it did) but a GOOD shock.
