Urgh. This is the episode of the podcast where we decided to play a drinking game in honor of our 21st birthday together, so to speak. The results are either brilliant or completely inaudible. For real. You may excuse yourself from this if you don’t want to hear us all embarrass ourselves. Especially me.
Along with the drinking game we play (shots every fifteen minutes plus drinks for podcast memes), we also chat about Skyrim, marrying video games, Battlefield 3, Bulletstorm, goats and donkeys, the Dragon Age 2 demo and difficulty in games. Nick also takes time away from slamming beer and whiskey to deliver a brand new game of grades. The results are not very pretty, but probably hilarious to listen to.
So yeah. Hopefully you don’t hate us after this.
Alright, warnings aside, here’s the podcast. Listen. Rate. Enjoy.
Intro
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Trailer
The Battlefield 3 Trailer
Bulletstorm and Immaturity
Tackling the Dragon Age 2 Demo
Grades
Grade your excitement for Skyrim (in relation to other titles coming out Fall of ’11).
Grade MS saying 2011 will be “an incredible year” for hardcore gamers on Xbox 360.
Grade the health of PC Gaming (with Skyrim/DA 2/Portal 2).
Grade MW3 prequel (starring Ghost) rumors.
The Big Question: Does the drinking and casting mix? What would you give as grades for all of these topics? Go!

They defiantly want the 3rd person fighting to be a major factor this time. Skyrim is based on a whole new leveling system. Its based on just doing now. Skills go up as you level them, leveling happens much faster earlier on, and perks are gained with each new level. Hopefully the enemy leveling is fixed too, I havent heard anything about that yet.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a game that I thought got harder in general, but I was surprised you said it was that hard. I didnt think it was so hard that I would get minimal stars, but I defiantly agree it got to a level that some casual gamers will not be able to get everything. I still havent made it to the final master galaxy (Which requires the new green stars)
Battlefield 3 is going to kick so much ass. I cant wait to see more about their new frostbite engine. So Eddy, I want to mention your upcoming PC Upgrade. I wanted to point out that you may want to wait a while for a major PC upgrade. I will be upgrading closer to the fall due to the rule of tech. Just from one builder to another if you can you may want to wait a little longer. Im in your same boat and am doing a full upgrade come the fall.
I never really got into DA: Origins so I dont think I will end up getting it. Ill also have Skyrim on my plate.
My excitement for Skyrim in comparison – S. Battlefield 3 & Uncharted 3 are also being anticipated but Skyrim is just going to be amazing. I cant wait. Oblivion may be my fav game of all time so Skyrim will be nuts.

Paying $800 for a PS3, or a $1500 PC that / will / allow you to play games for years and years, and also do Everything. OH wait PS3 Only Does Everything too XD. I'm only joking, but I'm not "proud" of my PCs
Does anyone actually care about the MW stories? I could never follow them, and it sounds like you guys weren't really clear on what was happening either. I don't remember which character's are which and who died.
**I couldn't believe my ears at the end and jumped over to SFF, my heart just broke a little. It's how I found you guys years and years ago and It's been awesome being a part of what you guys do. Good luck with whatever comes next, I'll be waiting patiently!**
When I get a little (OK a lot) liquor in me, I turn into a PC evangelist.
Awesome podcast as usual guys. I found myself shouting drink at certain intervals when a statement sounded like a drink requirement.
@ Jeff, I’ve been reading a book for school called “The Butcher Boy”. It’s set in Ireland, roughly around the 50s, and it uses the Unreliable Narrator Device to the extreme. It’s a really fascinating book and very well written. If you haven’t read it I’d recommend it.
Also “slainte” means health but it IS a drinking toast. I had to ask my friend who’s studying Irish to confirm that. You know more Irish than I.
BEST PODCAST EVARR!!!!1111
Seriously though I don’t think I laughed harder at any other episode of the cast.
I’m actually glad they’re focusing more on 3rd person combat in Skyrim because like Mitch in Fallout 3 and New Vegas (which made improvements on the 3rd person view) I mainly played that way to see how badass i looked in my Regulator Duster, and a more traditional leveling system makes this another buy on my list. Oh and Jeff when i first heard Skyrim got a new engine and saw the screens I too wondered what the new Fallout would look like.
On the DA2 demo, at first I was kinda iffy on the conversation wheel because like most of you the moral ambiguity was what made me love DA:O along with the lore and storyline, but after playing the demo i don’t mind as much I just hope the overall story kicks as much ass as the first did.
The excitement for skyrim compared to the other games released in November id say a B because I wasn’t into Oblivion as I was Fallout 3,but I still would like to play it.
You guys really make my week with these casts kudos and more drunk casts in the future because listening to Eddy for the last part of the podcast was audio hilarity. Can’t wait for the next cast.
Listening to this while playing Minecraft for the first time made my week
The confusion around Eddy’s sweetie comment was a highlight if I ever heard one

It seems I’ve endeared myself to Eddy. Not sure how to tell about that.
Great podcast as usual guys, and I’m glad that after I mentioned the whole “Nice” thing it has gotten such awareness haha. And Eddy just to clarify, Dragon Age 2 takes place in a framed narrative that covers 10 years of time. The demo, which is the beginning, takes place during Dragon Age 1 where Lothering (the village where you found Sten) is being attacked and Hawke and his family are escaping. This is about 1/4 through the first Dragon Age. After the escape, however, the story will jump forward a couple months, past the events of DA1. All in all probably the best or one of the best podcasts from you guys, and I have to say that I usually listen to the podcast while working out, and I got some pretty weird glances from people when I started busting up laughing multiple times in the middle of my reps.

Yeah, I’ve seen the movie version, which was pretty fantastic. May have to check out the book some day.
I was actually being flippant when i said slรกinte meant “drink”. I would probably have said gesundheit was German for “drink” at that point. ๐
