Happy Holidays, GamerSushi-ans! I hope your break (should you be on one) is going well. The GamerSushi crew will be ramping down for the Holidays, so this might be the last post you see out of us for the next few days. It’s been kind of a quiet Fall around here, but can you really blame us? Between all the games and our personal lives, we’ve kind of been slacking on the posts, so we apologize. There will however, be some treats coming from a certain jolly, bearded man sometime soon, so stay tuned for that.
Now that we have a little free time, what are your Christmas gaming plans? Personally, I’m finishing off Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and tucking into the multiplayer on that while going through my backlog and finishing off some left-over Achivements from games like Sonic Generations and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. I may even tuck back into Saint’s Row the Third, but after my 30 hour cheevo didn’t pop (along with a bunch of campaign ones, but that’s a known issue) I’ve kind of soured on that experience.
So what are you up to? Polishing off the backlog? Awaiting a windfall of Christmas gifts? Let us know!
I just finished the original Metal Gear Solid (expect a post on that sometime in the coming week or so) and will likely kill some time before the Xmas bonanza with MW 3 or Skyrim. After Xmas, I will likely be paralyzed with choices, like MGS HD, Sly Cooper HD, God of War Origins, Zelda, Dead Space 2…and actually a few more.
I need an intervention.
I’ve bought so many games with the steam sale its ridiculous. And its not over yet. Already bought Psychonauts, Terraria, the newest Humble Indie Bundle, Left 4 Dead 2 (accidently bought thinking I could use my Valve discount voucher already. Lesson – read the not-so-fine-print). This on top of Skyrim, Xenoblade and Arkham City which arrived not long ago. Gonna be a long happy holiday
Still haven’t bought anything on Steam, waiting for Christmas day to pass just to be sure. Finishing up L.A. Noire and Skyrim over the time, and actually picked up Rochard which is a great physics based action platformiing game. Really refreshing change.
Oh, and of course, some merry (drunken) Counter-Strike with some old internet buddies.
Hope all of you the best these holidays!
Movie marathon with my little cousins: Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America.
Dinner: Spaghetti and Garlic Bread.
Dessert: Ice Cream and Apple Pie
Post-Dessert: Speed-Run Modern Warfare 3
Mad Times.
I’ve added around 50-60 hours total playtime to Skyrim since last Thursday. So, yeah, apart from adding to it my gaming plans don’t involve much else… apart from playing the two most recent indie bundles which I haven’t even glanced at yet! 0_0
I may go back and finish off Deus Ex: HR and Bastion. I wasn’t too far off completing them, I think. I may also try and get some random drops on TF2 if I can be bothered, but really, I prefer playing TF2 after a long day of lectures and coursework, not when I have a long day of luxury to lose myself in a world like Skyrim.
Just bought the entire Half-Life collection on Steam, so maybe go through that, but we’ll see if I get bored too quick. Hopefully I’ll be getting Arkham City for Xmas. Even if I don’t though, I still have to try for Platinum in Dark Souls, beat Xenoblade, and get my ass kicked in SSFIV:AE, not to mention play through Portal for the 5th-ish time. And who knows what else is coming on Steam. That might put a wrench in plans. Also, Binding of Isaac, Stranger’s Wrath on PSN soon, Skyrim (grumble, grumble)…I’ll probably get overwhelmed with choices and read.
Have a great holiday all!
I’m gonna be catching up on Uncharted 2, as I missed out on that when it was released. I’ll be checking out Uncharted 3, AC Revelations, and some MW3 afterwards.
Got a 75 dollar gift card to Target, just bought Arkham City. Pretty excited.
As I’m at my in-laws, there hasn’t been much in terms of gaming going on. However, I’ve been able to catch up on some much needed novel-writing as well as a bit of reading. I’m currently blasting through “Bird by Bird” by Anne Lamott, an excellent tool book for writers. Highly recommended.
To get my gaming fix, I’ve actually been really addicted to watching video game streams of people playing things like FFVIII, MGS and Super Mario 64 on Twitch TV. I never thought I’d be so into that, but times like these when I can’t play games, it really helps like you wouldn’t believe.
If I get some time tomorrow, I plan on trying to do some FFVI or FF Tactics. We’ll see if that happens, though.
Currently I’m hacking away (quite literally) at Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Picked up Limbo, as well, and I started on that. Got Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 as a present which I’d like to put a few hours on because I haven’t played a Marvel vs Capcom since the last time I saw it as an arcade machine. Also got Mario Kart 7 yesterday, so naturally I have to show the computer who’s boss at every Gran Prix. I was also gifted Darksiders on Steam but I haven’t even touched it yet. On top of all that I’m probably going to spend a few hours playing MW3 with friends online.
