Seriously, if you own a PS3 and haven’t played Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, you really need to check it out. It’s one of the best games on the PS3, and is just a good old fashioned fun time. A new trailer appeared for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves last night at the VGA’s, along with some ridiculous high-res screenshots over at NeoGAF.
This trailer captures that cinematic flair that made the first game so fun. Can’t wait to play it.
Say what you want about the VGA’s, but man, it was cool to see some exclusive new announcements. For instance this teasingly short but tantalizingly sweet God of War 3 trailer, which shows off what looks to be incredible in-game footage. The graphics here are remarkable, and it looks like there will be some familiar gameplay tropes as well as new twists.

So I feel like I’ve been seeing the same Final Fantasy XIII Trailer for 2 years. It’s always the same shots, over and over, and we still don’t have any gameplay to look at. Granted, the same thing was the case for FF XII and that game turned out to be incredible, but even still. Anywho, here’s a new FFXIII trailer.

Speaking of MMO’s making people shirk their responsibilities and fall off the grid, it seems that Bioware’s KOTOR MMO has debuted with its first video documentary. What’s so special about it? Well, it has some of the first actual footage of the KOTOR MMO on it, ready for your viewing.
It actually doesn’t show all that much, which makes sense this early on, but even still, I’m intrigued. Anybody else interested in this?
Ah, the console wars in 1990. Such a simpler time, for simple consoles. The biggest worry was if you should spend $100 on a Nintendo or not, or hold out for the uber-powerful 16 bit Sega Genesis. But wait! Nintendo’s super system is just around the corner, and it’s just as powerful.
Man, watching this video really shows what has happened to the industry in the last 18 years. Pretty wild.
Not only sizzle, but also Akira trails on the Bat pod and “zzzzt” editing effects! Fancy. But even fancier and more fascinating to batfans out there is just how moody and dark this trailer is. I love the design on the Joker, and the shot of Croc at the end is just awe inspiring. Count me excited.
I haven’t played an RTS in a while, but Dawn of War always tempted me. Dawn of War II looks to be just as epic, just as space-ish, and just as awesome, if not more so. The new trailer shows off tons of cool units and lots of gameplay. Did any of you guys play the first one?
This is one of those things that needs almost no description. You just have to listen to it for yourself. I’ll still attempt a brief summary, though. In the new Ludacris album (the Netherlands release), there is a song called “Press the Start Button”, in which he raps about nearly ever freaking video game on the planet. Not quite, but close enough.
See how many references you can catch, because when he started dropping Contra and MGS bombs into the mix, I was shocked and/or awed.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest comes out in January, and lets you play in some of your favorite battles online against other equally nerdy opponents. In this new trailer, we get to see a glimpse of the dark forces of Sauron doing their thing and it looks awesome. Lord of the Rings? Check. Nazgul? Check. Killing Hobbitses? Check.

When there’s something strange, in the neighborhood… Who you gonna call?
Addictive song aside, this trailer actually arouses an incredible fanboy lust inside my nerdy heart. The Ghostbusters franchise is one that I love, and I’ve always felt that there was lots of untapped potential there in terms of more stories for the crew. This game will feature 4 player co-op from what I’m told. Just don’t cross the streams!
Not sure if many of you ever played Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, but it really was ahead of its time for an FPS. It combined platforming, first person fist-fights, puzzles, RPG-ish sidequests and was also the first XBox game to use normal mapping, and looked great for it.
It’s crazy exciting to me to see another game in the series coming out, though I think I wouldn’t mind seeing a new movie in the franchise, either. I may be the only one, though. Chronicles of Riddick may have been cheesy, but it was a cool sci-fi universe, darnit! Anywho, check out the trailer. It’s epic.
Why am I so in love with this young songwriter? Well, allow him to serenade you with tales of Mario Kart with both his voice and guitar, and perhaps you too, shall be wooed. Also, there’s a moustache. My favorite line is about the sparks. And the different cups. Tear.
I’m going to go ahead and apologize in advance for what you’re about to witness. You see, I have a secret love for Dragonball Z and everything about it. There, I said it. It saddens me that a terrible movie is getting made regarding this ridiculous anime. Maybe they should have consulted these dudes first. Cheesy, but awesome. Much like the show itself, no?
We all knew it was coming, but I didn’t expect to see anything so soon. Apparently Spike TV is teasing an announcement of some kind for Uncharted 2, and they’ve even included a nifty little trailer. This is one of the more exciting franchises I’ve played in recent years, and might be the best thing that the PS3 has going for it. Hopefully we’ll see more on December 14, at the Video Game Awards.
Seriously. This is just too cool for words. In another case of “awesome fan made shizzle”, a new trailer has come out from the dudes over at BlackMesaSource, the Half-Life 2 Mod that re-creates Half-Life 1 with graphics straight from the Source engine. The result? I just made up a new word for it. Fantastic-ness.
Silly Black Friday shoppers. Don’t you know you can find just as good if not better deals on the inter-tubes for all of your crazy holiday consumerism needs? I suppose not, because then they wouldn’t be at this Wal-Mart fighting over a pile of XBox 360’s with Guitar Hero bundles that aren’t really all that special. The best part is the dude laughing.
Last week it was Disney’s Haunted Mansion, this week it’s a map for Counter-Strike 1.6 made entirely out of crazy textures featuring Van Gogh paintings. Heck, even the skybox is an awesome shot of Starry Night, and it is just gorgeous to look at. I’d suggest you do so.

Time for another epic trailer for Prince of Persia before I start eating lots of turkey until something in my stomach blows or fails. Every step of the way, I’ve been terribly impressed by this game’s artful care, which ranges from the design to the graphics and even the story, as shown here. I really can’t wait. This is out next Tuesday, December 2, by the way.

Since we’re on the subject of Zelda, it only seemed appropriate to post this LittleBigPlanet map, which features recreated gameplay from the first Legend of Zelda game on the NES. Pretty incredible. I mean, sure, it’s slow and isn’t quite the same, but I’m impressed yet again by the seemingly limitless possibilities in this engine. The thing is, we’ve probably barely even scratched the surface.
Funny fact about the original Legend of Zelda: I could never play it because the dungeons always scared me when I was a kid.
