Disney’s Haunted Mansion in Counter-Strike: Source

Wow. Who needs Little Big Planet when you’ve got Counter-Strike: Source? Here, someone has literally created the whole Haunted Mansion ride and ported it into the game. Knowing a little bit about map building myself in Hammer for Counter-Strike: Source, I have no idea how this guy pulled off some of the stuff he did here. And planting the bomb in it is just mean.

GTA IV: Get Sprunk

Here’s an example of what you can do with the new GTA IV PC video editor, out in the wild. This video is good for a quick chuckle, and I’m liking some of the camera moves you can do as well. Can’t wait to see what it’s capable of, first person. Guess we’ll be seeing lots of machinima from the GTA IV community, perhaps. Anyone else plan on getting this for the PC?

Fan Made Mega Man Trailer

Ok, time for something that is actually made by devoted fans. Unlike Bike Hero, this Mega Man trailer was put together by fans of the film, and directed by Eddie Lebron. While the acting and writing is mega cheese, the special effects look fun and the production values are solid. What do you guys think? Could an actual Hollywood Mega Man movie pay off?

Left 4 Dead Gets Dawn of the Dead Map

A couple of weeks ago, when I was still debating about whether or not I should get Left 4 Dead on the XBox 360 or the PC, a friend of mine told me that the custom content for the PC would ultimately make it the choice that you would want long-term. He insisted that it would just be a few short weeks before someone created the Dawn of the Dead mall. Well, he was right.

Over at L4DMods, a user has posted that a replica of the Crossroads Mall from Dawn of the Dead is already nearing completion, having been made for a previous HL2 mod. The screenshots look fantastic, and there’s even a video walkthrough. Check it out:

The REAL Bike Hero… Douchebags!

Ok, this is hopefully the last time I ever post about Bike Hero again, but that’s probably because this is maybe more epic than the actual video. In it is a response from a Guitar Hero player towards the viral marketing campaign, showing them bitches how to do it right. He does this while playing “Through the Fire and the Flames” on Expert… while riding a bike. From the video’s description:

No closed roads, no CGI, no planted cars or joggers, no hidden cuts in camera moves. Just Dragonforce, a pair of wheels, and cojones the size of grapefruits.

Trust me. It’s totally worth it.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Trailer

Well, it’s nice to know that they’ve got a game that works, rather than all of the screenshots we’ve been seeing. The new Batman Arkham Asylum trailer doesn’t really show off any gameplay, or any people, really, but it does have lots of atmosphere, the music from the Dark Knight, and even a great creepy Joker laugh from Mr. Hamill himself. Good times.

Prince of Persia: Open World and Story

Prince of Persia, why must you appear so tasty? Something I didn’t know about this game is that instead of being linear, it takes place in an open world. Definitely a different take on the series, and one that might add even more interesting twists to the Price of Persia franchise.

Also, if you’ve played Uncharted, the dude that plays Nate is the Prince. So that rules.

Street Fighter II in LBP

Ah, the obligatory “someone put x in LBP” video, but even still, I never get tired of them. This LittleBigPlanet level features Street Fighter II’s Ken, Ryu, Zangief and even Blanca, engaging in battles. Pretty creative stuff, and yet another reminder that I’d never be able to do something as cool as this.

Bike Hero- Not so Real, Actually

Talk about a “there is no Santa Claus” moment in my adult life… Bike Hero was not created by crazy fans, but rather, an ad agency. While it doesn’t make what goes on in the video any less awesome, there was a part of me that was so inspired to see people making a tribute to something that they’re extremely in love with.

While I’m not going to be a guy to stand up and scream “fake” and be upset, I do wish that we knew when some of these things were ads. I feel bad for that kid that does go out and make something like Bike Hero (in terms of an awesome viral video) and gets panned by the Internet as being fake, when in fact it’s real.

What do you guys think? Fair or foul on Bike Hero not being real?

Fatality Versus Heroic Brutality

In case you were dying to know, here’s a video clip of every single fatality and heroic brutality finishing move in the new Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe game. While some of them are downright cool (I love the nostalgia of the arcade drop and Scorpion’s fire breathing), it’s sad that they couldn’t do more with what they had and just went with the all out gore. Either way, some of these are entertaining to watch. What’s your favorite?

GTA IV PC’s Machinima Tools

GTA IV releases on the PC in December, bringing its destructive gameplay to desktop gaming around the world. One of the cool new features that will be coming to the PC version of the game, however, is the in-game video editor that allows you to piece together several 30-45 second clips that you can capture while you play.

With those clips, you have access to a video editor that allows you to place camera movements, text and more, all for upload to Rockstar Social, or you can even output them at 720p or 1080p for your own use. While I wasn’t too excited about the tools at first, Eurogamer has posted some quick clips showing little demos of what is available to you, option-wise, and I must say I’m pleased with the results…

Great, another game I might be picking up on Steam next month… What do you guys think? You can view some videos made with the editor at the link below.

Left 4 Dead- Blood Harvest Gameplay

So I broke down and got Left 4 Dead on the 360. I don’t regret it, either. I had a blast playing it with my brother and a couple of friends tonight. The amount of zombies coming at you is just incredible, and you absolutely have to work together to survive. In honor of this momentous game, I’m posting some gameplay from later on, in the Blood Harvest act, where you are running from zombies in fields of corn. It ends with an epic showdown in a barn.

The Last Remnant Does Mega Battles

Every time I think I’m not interested in The Last Remnant, Square goes and wows me with another trailer. I’ve said it before, but the graphics are the most stunning I’ve seen in an RPG to date (those are in-game cut scenes, people), and the combat actually looks entertaining. The voice acting is above par for more Square games, as well, so I really just don’t know how I feel. All I know is this trailer makes me want to play it. And it comes out on November 20th…

Am I crazy? Or is it just another JRPG that I should ignore?

Blood of Bahamut Trailer Has Colossi

So, the new DS RPG from Square titled “Blood of Bahamut” (there is no Final Fantasy in the title, my bad on that one) has a brand spanking new trailer out for it. The comparisons to Shadow of the Colossus look to be correct, as the trailer pits 2D sprites against these enormous stone and moss beasts. I like the style of it, but I’m not sure what I think of the gameplay just yet. Still, it’s an interesting concept. What do you guys think?

Today’s WTF: The Great Solid Snake Escape

Video games teach us to do lots of things. Drive exotic cars, love exotic women and even jump on the heads of turtles. In the case of a 42 year old Turkish man in Germany, they taught him how to pull off a prison escape.

That’s right, a dude escaped from prison last week using a cardboard box. How very Metal Gear Solid of him. He hid inside of it and loaded himself into a cargo truck, which promptly drove him from the grounds, where he cut through the tarp and leaped to his freedom. This is both hilarious and scary, but I can’t help but laugh just a little on the inside. Dramatization below:

Another Prince of Persia Story Trailer

Sigh. Another really cool trailer for Prince of Persia. I guess you can watch it and get happy or something. Me? I’ll just sulk because it means another $60 out of my pocket. Thanks video gaming. You rule like a kick in the nuts.

Call of Duty World at War Teases us with Jungles

Another trailer is out for Call of Duty: World at War, this one featuring sneaky foes hiding in secret jungles, ready to strike at a moment’s notice. This game released this week a little under the radar, considering how much hype was centered around it, but so far I’m only hearing great things. In particular, I hear the Pacific levels are wild and epic, with some huge clashes.

Has anyone played this? Tell us your thoughts!

Fallout 3 Scenes in GMod

Ah, silly GMod dudes. Mingebags, roleplayers, and the like. You always come up with the most creative stuff. In fact, you were Forge and LittleBigPlanet before there was Forge and LittleBigPlanet. Why, here’s an example of someone re-creating some scenes from Fallout 3 in G-Mod, complete with Megaton and even a little dancing hula lady. Shame it’s not faceposed, and the camera work is pretty bad, but it’s still quirky enough to get on my good side.

White Knight Story Trailer Makes me Tingle

No, not the Tingle from the Zelda games. I mean tingle of the “my JRPG sense is tingling” sort. It’s been awhile since I’ve played a truly great JRPG, and White Knight Chronicles keeps tapping me lovingly in all the right places. The newest trailer is an epic montage of some of the story of the game, and while the graphics aren’t nearly as good as say, Last Remnant, I can’t help but watch and hope that this game is as awesome as it’s starting to look.

Anyone else wanting this game?
